Since you can’t run your machine full time without taking a break, you probably not if you’re a programmer but you may still want to restart also if you installed a new software in order to refresh your machine so that to have the best performances. In this article I will be explaining different method you can use to restart, shutdown, and sleep and hibernate your machine.

- Shutdown using start menu button
This is mostly easy and known to every one using different version of windows like windows 7 both edition, windows 8, 8.1 and now windows 10 also. Click Start menu button, in the bottom of your left hand side at the task bar. Then hit the power button and choose the option you prefer your machine to perform, they are four options i.e. Restart, Shutdown, Hibernate and Sleep, and your work done is to tap your option. Done.
- Shut down using the windows shortcut
It may happen your mouse fails to respond while you’re in hurry doing important work and you need to restart your computer for a while don’t while, here for you.
Use the short cut ALT + F4, Hold and hit both key simultaneously.
Six option will be provided to you like sign out, switch user, restart, hibernate, shutdown etc., then choose your action option then off you go.
- Use a command line interface,
Also you may restart your computer using a command line interface, then type in a command shutdown with letter ‘s’ and back slash at its back i.e. /s. you may use the following ways to open the command line interface.
Hit the cursor on your computer screen, right click tap New then shortcut will prompt you a window with search bar type in CMD then press enter key. Shortcut you created will be on your desktop, then right click the shortcut then choose run as administrator, then type your command Shutdown /S then hit enter. Now you shut down your computer.
You may decide also to search for CMD, in the search bar, check your left hand side at the bottom close to start button. tap cmd, then follow the step above.
Shutdown and restart using on/off power button,
Check your left hand or right hand depends on the type of computer you use. Then long press you’re on/off power button for a while.
- Uses slidetoshutdown command
Also this is the best option like other, just type run on ask my anything bar search, click run then type Slidetoshutdown.exe then press OK. Or you may tap Windows key + R at the same time.
