Samsung Electronics to unveil the family hub refrigerator with voice recognition, IoT service

Samsung electronics extended their interest of expanding the voice recognition function of the family hub refrigerator to European countries in the second half of 2017. Before European countries Samsung has already applied cloud based voice features to the family hub in Korea and USA.


Hub refrigerator that will be unveiled in European will consist of European languages on a phased basis this year, starting with British, English, Germany, French and Italian Also they will be introducing the smart home features for the first time at IFA this year. 

The beginning on September 1 this year, the European countries will experience the Family hub’s new voice recognition features as well as Samsung Smart home and IoT service implementing with Samsung connect.

The Family Hub’s voice capabilities will focus on improving consumer lifestyle with the following features.

Will provide a new way to interact with refrigerator, Users will be able to ask for the time and weather updates, Search the internet, Read news article, play music radio, add items to their shopping list and even viewing inside of the refrigerator without opening the door.

Also consumers around the world can enjoy the favourite music on music streaming platform like Spotify and stay updated with latest news through upday and will help households take control of their various Samsung smart devices. 

Again, Samsung connect users will be able to turn on and monitor their washing machine, tell the vacuum cleaner to begin cleaning up the living room from family hub’s interactive screen while cooking .

Samsung smart home features enhance this as a platform capable of connecting and controlling IoT devices regardless of their operating system, such as android or iOS.

Samsung continues to grow family hub’s partner ecosystem with innovative new service and content. At least 100 partner companies collaborate with Samsung’s Family hub platform across North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific such as Instacart, Shoprite and FreshDirect provide consumers in the U.S. with seamless e-commerce shopping experiences.
