if you changed your phone number and kept your same phone, you can change your number within whatsapp . before deciding anything make sure that your new number is activated on your phone and that you can be able to receive text message or phone calls for verification purpose.

Before proceeding you need to know these facts:

• When you change your whatsapp phone number will migrate your groups,profile, and chat historyto the accountwith your new number.
• After you change your phone number, account associated with your old number will be deleted, so your contacts will no longer see your old number in the list of whatsApp contacts.

Follow the following steps to change your account phone number.

• Turn on your phone in case your phone is turned off.
• Check at the middle of the phone screen tap the rectangular grid of white dots, will open up the applications folder
• Now after the folders of the application have been opened, find and tap the whatsapp application: don’t open any contact.
• At the top right corner of the opened whatsapp application tap menu button (three vertical dots), and to some smartphone three vertical dots are located at the bottom left or bottom right, also might look different to some phone devices.
• From the options click Settings,
• Under settings click Account (key symbol), first from the lists
• Under account you will see several options, click Change number second from the bottom

Remember: in changing your phone number migrate your account info, groups and settings.

• Then make sure the number you going to set as your whatsapp number is available because they will send the verification code to verify your new number.

Also make sure you remember your old number (previous number you were using as the whatsapp number), since you will need to change your old number to knew number.

• Press next (tick) to continue next to change number
• Now you will be required to enter your country code number and your phone number. Then enter your new country code number in case you’re not in the same country, but if you’re still in your country always the country code is the same.
• Press done (tick) at your right hand at the top corner

Wait for verification code number; After successful verifying your new number, your old account information will be migrated to your new number. it takes a second or a minute to receive verification number.

Enter the verification code: Now, you can use the new number as your whatsapp number.
