How to fix unfortunately maps has stopped error on android tips

Have you facing the problem with Google maps on your android phone? Always the app keeps on crashing, freezing or you’re getting an error message “Unfortunately Maps has stopped working”. Here I decide to share an article on how you can fix error on your android device.

Update to the latest version

Google map crashing, freezing and an error message may be happening because the app is out of date. Make sure you check for new version of an app on play store often. To check for new version, open Google play store and type in Google map on a search bar, if there is update available will requires you to update an app otherwise try below step.

Restart the phone

Might sound simple to most of you, but restarting your phone can solve the error and have your app running again. Tap and hold the power button on your device and select the restart option on your phone screen.

Clear cache

If the above step not working for you, try to clear all the app cache. It’s simple, tap more then go direct to settings. Scroll down to find apps under system. Tap apps, then scroll down to find Maps, tap once. Under app info click Storage, now hit clear cache to solve the problem.

Factory data Reset

Please don’t jump direct to this step, use factory phone reset as your final option if all solution won’t work and nothing you can do either. Make sure you backup all of your data from phone’s internal storage including Google account system and app data and settings, music and much more since without doing so all your data will be erased.

To go for factory reset, tap more, Settings. Scroll down and find Backup & reset under System depending on your phone brand. Or Settings, then personalization, backup & reset then tap once on factory data reset. Under factory data reset at the bottom hit reset phone.
