I always tell my friends on how good they need to set their
phone security. Can you imagine how it would be if someone you don’t desire to
see your personal information has access of it? I know the answer is direct you
will not feel well at all.
So, if your smartphone has no any security makes it
easy for everyone who can access your phone to see your information stored in
the phone, which may cause the leakage of your personal information. Assume now
you stored credit card number, online store shopping password, photos, etc.
Most of us think, phone security is the very basic and
fundamental option (not concerned at all). But remember the privacy protection for
confidential information is very important and doesn’t relay to specific group
or someone.
If your information leak, you will be the one to pay
for it. Remember, some friends have the habit to transfer information found in friend’s
phone to their phones through Bluetooth or Wireless and starts posting on social
media especially photo without your concern also he/she may share your privacy
information to others.
In the world today most people tend to store their
sensitive information like their bank card number, office documents, online
store password, etc. so that can be accessible anywhere when needed.
Everyone has its own way to protect the phone, among
three or four security option such as PIN code; Pattern, Blown PIN password and
EYE print protector both are available on android phone but you may find less
or more depending on the phone manufacturer.
One day I found a debate from one of the popular online
community about which is the more or less in terms of security among the four options
above. I’m sure you have the similar discussion to. So, now it’s very important
to choose the one you prefer from the four below.
- Lock Pattern
This security option allows the use of pattern to draw
the unique security, which you can remember easily. That requires you to
connect at least 3 or 4 dot depending on the phone manufacturer. Hit on the dot
with your finger print and start drawing your pattern.
- PIN code
This allows the use of four or more digit numerical
code as your password. In this option you can’t use alphabet. It’s only the
numerical digits (0-9).
The PIN code is similar to the one you going to take
money out of the ATM. To my case this option is too risk since anyone can break
it (not secure at all) because if your friends know your year of birth or
family can easily assume your password.
- Full-password
This allows the use of either four or more digits numerical
code, alphabet code or both, is just like signing into Gmail account, Facebook
account or any other account around the internet.
I recommend this option because is more secure and
difficult for someone to break it out.
- Eyes unlock
Eyes unlock employs biometric identification to safely
scan the eye print with smartphone camera.
This involves two steps which are four digit code and
Eye print. The four digit code will be used for verification.
I do recommend this option also because is more secure
than the three above, but don’t use eyes unlock if you placed glasses on your
screen phone (Not recommended for glasses).
Steps to register for Eye print
- Make sure your in well-lit and stable environment
- Face smartphone directly and place eye within a frame
- Optimal distance between faces and mobile is 30cm.
- When scanning please focus on the progress value displayed on the interface.
- Now it’s important to think carefully about each one above and take care to choose which one is best for you. If you want to access your phone much easily use PIN code as your password otherwise you use eyes unlock or Full-password.
To access these option follow procedure below
- Go to the settings menu on your device
- Scroll down until you find Security & account management, Security or Security and screen lock.
- Under Security & account management tap Screen lock.
- On device security tap screen lock, now if you have been set before the password will ask you to confirm it so that you can get access of other screen lock available in android phone.
Pattern
Press on Pattern, and then draw the pattern of your
choice by connecting four dots and release the finger. When you place wrong
pattern will ask you to try again.
PIN code
Press on PIN, and then enter at least four digits from
0 to 9. Then touch the tick at the top corner to continue. You will be asked to
confirm your PIN enters the similar PIN, if you enter wrong code the message
PINS don’t match will be prompted to you.
Full-password
Press on password, and then enter at least four
numerical digits or alphabet or both. Then touch tick at the top corner to
continue. Now you will need to confirm the password.
Eyes unlock
Press on eyes unlock, and then enter only four digits
that will be used for verification. Tap the plus symbol at the bottom and look
at the interface of your camera otherwise will not detect your eyes.
Now, hopeful you have the right option. Prevent your information from being accessed by others. Like the post? please share.
