Make my PC run faster free
At first when you buy PC/laptop usually run faster for
day but as the time goes on the computer sluggish down. So, if your computer
slows down as never before you don’t need to worry, before you think spending
hundreds of dollars or thousand dollars in buying new machine, you may find
simple tips here to make your computer running fast again. Observe them carefully;
don’t rush in reading the article.
In this article I will teach you on how you can make
your computer run smoothly jut in four easy steps. I will be teaching you
basically to optimize your PC to make it run smoothly as it was before.
- Remove temporary files on your computer
Usually computer generates a lot of temporarily files
every time you open and use any application and at the time you boot up your
machine. This will often use some amount of space. So as the time you observe
your computer running too slow try to remove temporarily file. Here you can do.
Start search box, type in Run or press Windows symbol +
R simultaneously then enter, In the prompted small window type in percentage
sign (%) temp type in percentage (%) sign again that is (%temp%) then press
enter or press Ok.
You will run into many files that computer don’t need,
so you will need to delete them all. To delete the files press CTRL + A to
highlight the files and press CTRL + D to delete the files. Or Right click the
cursor and highlight the files, then right click on the highlighted files, from
the options given select delete.
- Use Prefetch command
Start search box,
type in Run then enter, type prefetch in the prompted window then enter or
press Ok.You will find many files that computer don’t need, so
delete them all. Press CTRL + A to highlight the files and CTRL + D to delete
the files.
- Run disk clean-up
Use disk clean-up,
Disk clean-up is the desktop app that allows you to clean your computer hard
drive if there are unwanted files on it.
With disk clean-up
you can clean up gigabytes of files by removing temporarily files and
unnecessary file around your system, also empty the recycle bin.
Here the steps to follow.
Step 1: Type in
disk clean-up at the search box, will give you the option at the top, and click
disk clean-up (desktop app). Small window open, now decide the drive you want
to clean then press Ok.
Steps 2: (Alternative),
Find the drive you want to clean, right click on it then from the option list
select properties. From the prompted window properties, click disk clean-up
button. The window will pop up asking you the files you want to remove. Check both
files you want to remove then press ok. The messages are you sure you want to
permanently delete these files? Prompted to you, clicks delete Files.
- Use msconfig command to prevent unnecessary program from starting as the computer boots up.
Some program start
running as the time you turn on your computer, running in the background that
usually cause the computer to load slow and take some time before you’re in
home screen. To run msconfig use the following steps.
Start search box
near windows icon type in Run then enter or press Windows icon + R. The small
pop up window will be prompted to you type in msconfig then enter or press Ok. On
the system configuration window select Start up from the menu and click Open Task
Manager to see a list of all programs that run when you boot up your computer.
Click on the
program you want to prevent then press Disable button at corner bottom right
hand of the window
- Use registry to remove unnecessary entries
To remove the files
press windows icon on your keyboard then R or type run on search bar, type in
regedit then enter or press ok. You will be required to prove user account
setting. Click yes to continue
The registry editor
window will open, on left tab click HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> * -> shellex
-> ContextMenuHandlers, list of files will be given to you now from the
list, delete the application you don’t want to be included in the context menu.
Note: if you don’t see
shellex from the list press CTRL + F, and type in shellex on search bar then
enter.
But before deciding
to use registry make sure you have the idea with it otherwise don’t delete
anything, as using incorrectly can damage your system. If you have no ideas do these before.
Backup your
information: Since many of us, we use computer as our home stores for music,
photos, school work, office work, purchasing information, and much more. To back
up your data is the good thing otherwise if anything goes wrong you may lose everything.
To back up your
data purchase external hard disk, after purchasing external hard disk, insert
the USB cable in the Computer USB port and the drive itself. The drive will
prompt to you a message, click on it. Open the drive and find the files you
want to back up. Move the files to the external hard disk through copying and
pasting the files to external drive or right click on the file then send to
external disk drive.
Or you may use also
DVDS, CDs to back up your data, insert the DVD/CD to computer then copy and
paste the files you want to backing up. But keep in mind that DVD/CD needs to
be kept on a safe place because it’s too easy to break up or if get dusts can’t
read any more.
- Install an antivirus/firewall program
Antivirus will
keeps you away from malware, viruses, Trojan horse, adware etc. that will keep
the windows running too smoothly.
- Restart the computer
By restarting the
computer, it means you refresh the memory that can help slow down computer to
run fast again. Remember more time you use the computer without taking a break;
the computer starts to slow down.
So observe the precautions as the time you
use your computer for long time. To restart your computer press windows icon, powers
icons then restart option.
Check your local
drive space
You might find your
local drive are full of files, and most of us leave the drive until have the
red color, that is the time will come familiar that the disk is full. But the computer
rules you need to leave at least fifteen per cent of the hard disk free. Go to
This PC/ My computer click on it. Then right click on the drive you select,
select properties now compare used space and free space.
- Uninstall the program
Often all of us we
use third party application to perform certain task within our computer, but some
of application may slow down your computer performance. To uninstall the program,
open control panel (desktop app).
From the listed category select programs. Under
programs and features click uninstall a program. Right click on the program
then hit uninstall.
