How to turn off screen overlay on android

Most of us we run into error especially after updating android operating system to other latest version. That’s the similar question I have been asked by someone. After he updating to android 6.0 Marshmallow, the following message is displayed on his phone screen “Screen overlay detected to change this permission settings, you first have to turn off the screen overlay from settings>Apps”

This often appears in all smartphone, regardless of the manufacturer especially if it uses android operating system. I got the question from someone using Samsung phone, but the similar problem can happen to Huawei, LG, Techno, Itel, etc. depending on kind of phone vendor you’re using right now.

Usually the causes of screen overlay error is that, when your android phone prompt for the screen overlay detected is presented when an installed application is allowed to draw over other apps is running in the background that allows an app to display on top of other apps you’re using and may interfere with your use of the interface in other application, or change what you think you are seeing in other applications.

This often happen especially, if you install an application into your android phone and tries to take over other installed apps is running in the background by taking the first priority among the other. Some of these apps are Facebook messenger, DU speed booster, and much more.

If you noticed your phone has screen overlay error complete the setup of the application permissions, disable the draw over other apps features, for the enabled application by the following steps

How to turn off screen overlay

Tap rectangular dots on middle of your phone screen to lunch the apps folders installed into your phone. Search and click Settings (gear icon).

Scroll down, find Apps under System, and click Apps. In this step when you click Apps you will be able to see all available apps in your phone. Check on your right hand at the top of your phone screen, tap the configure apps symbol (similar to gear icon).

Under configure apps on advanced tap “Draw over other apps” now you will be able to see drawing apps.

Tap the app and disable by clicking the toggle. Also permit apps to draw over other apps by enabling the toggle.
